Surprises

The gear the professor gave the students would guard them from the physical attacks, so the only way to lose the match was to get physically tired. With all the students partnered up in the back field, the instructor set the rules.

"Okay, this is a no restrictions round, give it your all—hopefully you've been practicing over summer. As you may have noticed, there are no weapons for today. Whoever the winners are of each group get to plan how tomorrow will be. Good luck!" With that, the male blew his whistle.

Silver had a fierce glint in his cobalt eyes, with a smirk on his face, he charged at Wolfe. The pair were about two meters apart, so the raven haired boy didn't have much time to think. Silver's attacks were very obvious so Wolfe easily avoided his advance, appearing behind the boy and striking his back. Silver turned and squatted, grabbing Wolfe's leg, pulling up to trip him. Wolfe was surprised by this, but he didn't show it on his face—he had a trick. He let himself fall on his back with a thud.

Silver's smirk grew, "I may have learned a few things over break." He said looking down at Wolfe.

Wolfe was hoping he would stand above him, so he hooked his ankle behind Silver's heel and with a grunt he pushed off the ground with his hands and simultaneously knocked the viridian haired boy to the ground.

Wolfe stood above his shocked partner, offering his hand, "And so have I."




"Good morning class, as some of you may already know, I'm Professor Sunray, but just call me Sun." The strawberry blonde sorceress clasped her hands together under her chin. She walked down the middle aisle in between the two rows of desks, closing the wooden door in the back of the room. With a smile she slowly walked to the front of the class, "This will be a fun class; we'll practice making potions of all sorts, for every race. And this is also my first year teaching, so let's see how this goes!"

"So what kinds of potions are we going to be making?" An emerald-eyed blonde girl
asked with her hand raised.

"Well let's see," Sun began to count on her fingers, "There is a potion that is activated with a scroll to increase your physical attack, defense, speed and there are ones to increase your endurance as well. But we'll start with the simple ones such as evasion first—if we have time during the period we will meet up with Zane's class and try our scrolls against his defense class." She laughed to herself, "That would be very interesting to watch."

For the rest of the period, the sorceress explained what the course would be like for the year and telling them of possible field trips to different battle grounds—Faruba and Krystal literally bounced in their seats in anticipation.


The two girls waited outside of the doorway after the bell rang, Wolfe had to pass their class to get to Maria's. While waiting, the girl that asked the question in their previous class walked over to the girls with a smile.

"Hey Faru, hi Krystal." She half waved.

"Hey Daria, isn't it cool that we have a class together? Now I don't have to wait until guild meetings to hang out!" Faruba said eagerly.

Daria giggled, "I know, right?"

"You're in Venom too right?" Krystal asked, tilting her head.

"Yeah! I hang out with Wolfe, Faru, and Kit when I get the chance, but I'm usually with Lyra." The girl grinned.

"You two look so much alike." Faruba noted.

"I get that a lot," Daria happily shrugged, "but I guess it makes sense 'cause we're such close friends.

"That's cool! I don't know anyone that looks like me—silver hair isn't very common." Krystal laughed.

"Well I hope we'll be able to do Kingdom Quests together sometime, I've gotta go." Daria frowned.

"See ya soon!" Faruba and Krystal waved.

A few moments after Daria left, Wolfe found the girls waiting on the side of the building.  He looked a little tired but as proper as usual.

"Hello." He said, slightly bowing his head.

"Hey Wolfe," Faruba threw her arm around the warrior's neck.

Krystal finished the cleric's sentence, placing her arm on the girl's opposite shoulder, "let's go to class!"

The three trotted down the sidewalk to the back field on the east side of the campus.
