Things Happen For A Reason

It didn't take long for the group to reach the small building in the back of the campus. In Maria's General Studies class they did all sorts of things—she told them of folk tales, they went on explorations of haunted, abandoned castles and this year they were in for a surprise.

In Maria's small room, there were no desks, just an arch of chairs facing a chalk board. She stood behind a wooden podium on the right side of the room. She had long midnight colored hair and she wore a traditional temple priestess' outfit, her voice was very soft to match her gentle figure.

The gear the professor gave the students would guard them from the physical attacks, so the only way to lose the match was to get physically tired. With all the students partnered up in the back field, the instructor set the rules.

"Okay, this is a no restrictions round, give it your all—hopefully you've been practicing over summer. As you may have noticed, there are no weapons for today. Whoever the winners are of each group get to plan how tomorrow will be. Good luck!" With that, the male blew his whistle.

The three friends walked together out of the dining hall after the crowd of students left the building. The grass and few trees in the distance were shimmering with dew from the previous night; the sun brought a welcoming warmth in its hazy morning rays.

The cleric stood on her tiptoes, stretching her arms above her head, "I'm so excited for class to start!" She then crossed her arms with a smirk, "I'll race you to class Krys."
